A Brief History

A Legacy Built on Vision & Service

The school was established by the 133-year-old Calcutta Muslim Orphanage in 2005 with the aim of providing quality English medium education, particularly — but not exclusively — to the educationally, economically and socially backward sections of the minority community. It was named after Abdul Kasem Fazlul Haque, Chief Minister of Undivided Bengal and a visionary in respect of the education of girls, who also presided over the CMO.

Studies commenced on 25th April, 2005 with just 96 students, of whom 36 were our own orphan inmates. Over the years, the roll strength has risen to a phenomenal 2,000 or so — including about 100 of our orphan inmates.

Milestones Along The Way

29 Nov, 1998

Foundation Stone Laid

The foundation stone of the main school building was laid by His Excellency Dr. A. R. Kidwai, Governor of West Bengal.

27 Feb, 2004

Building Inaugurated

Upon completion, the building was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, President of India.

25 Apr, 2005

Studies Commenced

Classes began with just 96 students, of whom 36 were our own orphan inmates.

2013 – 2017

WBBSE Affiliation

Affiliated as a Junior High School in 2013, High School in 2015, and Higher Secondary in 2017.

Expansion

New Building & Land

A new building at 1/1, Sharif Lane now houses our Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs. Nearly 13 cottahs of additional land were later secured for expansion, now home to our Montessori and Junior classrooms.

Today

2,000+ Students Strong

An enviable record of cent per cent success at the Board examinations, air-conditioned classrooms, a Computer laboratory, and an air-conditioned E-class room.
